About this event:
After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, we are at last gathering for an in-person Memorial Day Program at El Toro Memorial Park. The program will be held on Memorial Day, Monday May 30th at 11:00 a.m. in the Old Section at the rear of the park. The program is free to the public and will take place rain or shine. Attendees are welcome to bring their own lawn chairs and seating for 500 will be provided.
Our Keynote Speaker will be Vietnam Veteran Bill Ring who flew over 500 combat missions with the Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 165, First Marine Aircraft Wing. The program also includes , special musical performances by the Master Chorale of Saddleback Valley, "Amazing Grace" will be played on the bagpipes by Dean Johnson, "Taps" will be performed by bugler, Michael McPhie and Gene Smith will provide prelude and postlude guitar music. There will aslo be a wreath presentation and an Honor Guard Firing Salute provided by member of VFW Post 6024. American Legion Chaplain Frank Cook will also provide a World War I Historical Display.
