At the California Special District Association Annual Conference in 2020, the District recieved the Earl F. Sayre Excellence in Safety Award from Special District Risk Management Authority in recognition of the Outstanding Leadership for Risk Management and Safety Programs.  The District had received the maximum amount of workers compensation credit incentive points for three years in a row, due to the implementation of a new safety and injury prevention program.
